Toughest Japanese Dovetail I’ve ever made!

In this video I show the steps I have taken to make this Japanese dovetail joint. This was by far the most complicated woodworking joints I have ever made and I have been making furniture for over 25 years. This particular joint was made for the Furniture and Cabinetmaking magazine here in the UK.

I am now the senior tutor and vice principal at Robinson house studio furniture school in the UK

This stunning cabinet was made by ex-student here Sarah Christensen @sarah_christensen_design . FOYA takes the concept of a designer jacket that has a flamboyant lining. From the outside, you get a hint of the lining around the cuff and collar and perhaps the occasional glimpse of more fabric if the wearer gets something out of that handy pocket on the inside. FOYA gives you that hint and keeps it's true flamboyance hidden and reserved for it's owner. . . #cabinetmaker #woodworkschool #furnituremakingschool #furnituremaking #craft #craftsmanship #handskills #finefurniture #art #bespoke #handmade #cabinetmakingcourses #furnituremaker #furnituredesign #woodworking #dowoodworking #designer #design #woodwork #woodart #oneoff #studio #bespokedesign #student @woodreview
