Japanese joints are grouped into two main categories: splicing joints(Tsugi), connecting joints(Shiguchi).
Here are the simple parts of splicing joint:
#1.Stepped Dovetailed Splice (Koshikake-ari-tsugi)
#2.Stepped Gooseneck Splice (Koshikake-kama-tsugi)
#3.Rabbeted oblique scarf splice (Okkake-daisen-tsugi)
#4.Mortised Rabbeted Oblique Splice (Kanawa-tsugi)
#5.Blind Stubbed, Housed Rabbeted Oblique Scarf Splice (Shiribasami-tsugi)
